Nick and Naomi’s Hidden Valley Resort Wedding, by Jennifer Hibberd Photography
Welcome to Nick & Naomi’s Hidden Valley Resort Wedding story!
Upon our arrival, Jess and I met up with Naomi and the girls, in her room at the resort. We spent some time photographing her important details before capturing some even more important moments with her Mom. We had beautiful north facing window light for some portraits; and then captured a photo journalistic first look with her Dad.
Down the hall the guys were all ready for the day, and were enjoying each other’s company and a few drinks. I snapped some creative portraits of Nick, and some of his guys using some off camera lighting techniques using one flash, and a magnetic modifier for a moody, dramatic and masculine look that the guys will love!
The ceremony was held down at the water, with a chill in the air, and crisp leaves on the ground. Guests wrapped up in blankets and the warm sun shone through casting pockets of light through the trees and dancing on the lake behind the couple and their wedding party.
A tribute was paid to their Grandparents that could not be here on earth, by seating beautiful framed portraits of them in the front row. (Side note people – this is why we print our photos! We are important and worth framing too!)
Naomi glowed all day; beaming with happiness to be Nicks wife. They are such a cool couple; and their wedding party was such a blast. We all hung out in the warm sun on the dock, snapping some creative group shots before I stole the newlyweds away for some shots just the two of them.
After some time alone, the couple joined their party, enjoyed speeches over a nice dinner, which Im not gonna lie – Al (Naomi’s Dad) made me cry. The way he spoke of his wife Annette when she was pregnant with Naomi was the sweetest thing I’ve ever heard.
Shortly after dinner Naomi and Nick slipped off for a little gift exchange. Naomi and I created a beautiful fine art boudoir book made of a vintage linen and water colour paper. Nick liked it. LOL! What else can I say?!
After that it was party time, kicked off by the First Dance and Father Daughter, Mother Son dances. Other guests joined in and before long Naomi changed out of her wedding dress into something more comfortable – something I think all brides should consider doing!
The wedding party SLAYED on the dance floor toward the end of the night which I was super pumped to be a part of.
